Survey for the presence of VOP during the reconstruction of streetcar tracks in Kursk
In the city of Kursk work on the reconstruction of streetcar tracks. It is planned to replace a total of 42, 6 km of track, the work will go in 2023 and 2024. For 2023, approximately half of the volume is planned. The first section goes from 2nd Agregatnaya street, near Eastern depot. In late summer and early fall, Route 1 may be closed to expedite repairs, reconstruction and completion. Bus routes will be adjusted. Working places will be kept.
As part of ensuring the safety of personnel and equipment, measures are being taken to clear the area of explosive hazards.
After completing the survey and clearing the area, road workers will begin dismantling the old rails, constructing the streetcar platforms, and excavating.
Completion of the reconstruction of the streetcar tracks and the launch of streetcar traffic is tentatively due by October 2024. Approximately 1,400 jobs will be created as part of the project, with approximately 1,100 already under construction between 2022 and 2024.
